How to setup a proxy on MacOS in simple steps

You can setup a proxy on MacOS and unblock websites and change your location. It can also help you unblock geo-restricted content
  1. Find a proxy

    If you dont have it already you can get one from here. A proxy has two parts IP and a Port make sure you have both. It looks something like this IP = 146.59.83.187 & Port = 80 (Sometimes written as 146.59.83.187:80)
  2. Click the apple icon

    A menu will open, on the menu click System Preferences
  3. Select Network

    In system preferences, select Network
  4. Go to advanced settings

    It will be in bottom right corner
  5. Go to proxies tab

    Click on proxies tab as shown in the picture
  6. Select Web Proxy (HTTP)

    Here you will have your proxy configuration
  7. Add the proxy and the port (from step 1)

    You are at the final step of the proxy configuration
  8. Done

    And there you go, you have now successfully changed your location via a proxy
